Playing in the league Tournament

Welcome to the May Offensive, the first of what I hope to be many tourneys run with the help of "the City Guard" wargaming club. This is somewhat of a new experience, being a tournament spread over a month, played each Sunday, so i know you'll be as excited as we are. We are hoping to combine the fun, friendly club environment with the  excitement and competitive nature of a tournament, to produce a damm fun four weeks of wargaming. With the welcome help of local retailers, we have even managed to get a rather cool selection of prizes, and have got some of the best Trophies I've seen . So, sign up, plain that army, and Take the field, Commander, your troops await!

Where can I find the Rules for the League Tournament?

How can I get into the League Tournament?
All you need to do is e-mail your information to us or turn up at the city guard Sunday games to register for the League tournament.
There is only limited space in each League tournament so if you are not quick you many not be able to play.

What do I need to play in the League tournament?
·     First things first… An army for the League tournament that you signed up for (Warhammer & Warhammer 40K)
·     The army must be Assembled (NO it does not need to be fully painted but this would help), and it MUST be WYSIWYG ( What You See Is What You Get, ie all wargear, magic items, etc must appear on the model)
·     At least 2 copies of your army list. One for the organisers and one for you. (note: not having your list when asked for, either by an opponent or judge, will result is a ZERO for that game)
·     Everything you need to play your army. This includes rule books, codex's or army books, White Dwarf Publications, Dice and tape measures.

What Army can I use?
You can use any offical Games Workshop army, that is, any army with a codex, army book, or "short list" either in the back of a rulebook or in "Ravaging Hordes". 40K appendix army lists are NOT being used, but warhammer appendix lists are. Note, tank armies are NOT chapter approved ( NO! that's the bottom line! no!)

A Day at the League Tournament

You arrive at the location for the games and sign in with the organisers. Here you will be given your result card for logging the great victories you will have. The organisers and judges will give you a run down on what will happen for the day. You will then be assigned a table and an opponent to play.

After the game you will fill out the Result card with your opponent and then hand them in to the organisers. If you have any time left before the next game feel free to take a break, have a drink, or just look at how other games are going. Remember that if you are going to look at the other players games.   Please keep out of their way and try not to interrupt them. (Complaints made by players that people are getting in their way will be dealt with…… I'll sick the dogs on you)

I have a rules question while playing an opponent...
Ok. Try to solve it between the both of you first.   If this does not work ask a judge to sort it out.
·     Do not let the flow of the game be slowed due to a problem. Try to sort it out if you can not come to a settlement then one of you pickup a dice and roll. On a 4+ it goes to the opponent on a 1,2 or 3 it goes to you..
·     If this is not for you or your opponent then call over one of the judges and let him decided. Remember that the judges word is final and can not be overruled.

OK who won?
Well this is where the result cards come in. once you have entered the scores on the card and it is handed in to the organisers, we do some fancy stuff, and then we tell you who won. ( a full break-down of each game's scoring system is in the rules, attached.

The trophies are for

Overall winner
